Alex Aiono nagbigay ng mahalagang tips sa mga gustong maging YouTube star. Isa sa mga sikat at lehitimong Youtuber o Youtube Star si Alex Aiono na mayroong 4.6 Million Subscriber at may pinagsamang 500 million views ang lahat ng kanyang uploaded video.
Kamakailan lang ay bumisita Si Aiono sa Pilipinas para sa kanyang kauna unahang concert sa bansa bilang main attraction ng Lubao International Balloon And Music Festival sa Pampanga. Matagumpay na natapos ang concert na sya namang ikinagalak at ikinagulat ng singer ang mainit na pagtanggap ng Pinoy fans.
"Ive been online and you know interacting with Filipino fans for years. And I did a cover, I think i was last year, and I inserted a couple of tagalog words and they went crazy... Having that connection in person, it's amazing" kwento ni Aiono.
Maliit pa lamang si Aiono ay kinagiliwan na nya ang kumanta at gumawa ng music at YouTube ang naging daan para maipamalas nya ang lahat ng kanyang talento at kakayahan sa musika na sya namang tinangkilik ng mga tao. Hindi rin umano nya pinangarap na maging YouTube Star, ang gusto lang nya ay ang kumanta at tumugtog.
"When I moved to Los Angeles, I was introduced to social media and the important of building fans via it cause you can build it worldwide. ...So when i started my YouTube channel, I was just wanted to start building up the fans but I had no idea that would be my route into this traditional mindset of getting signed and touring," dagdag pa ng singer.
Makikita sa kanyang channel ang unang mga uploaded video na kanyang ginawa ay iba iba tulad ng vlogging at basketball tricks. Pero mas naging patok sa mga manunuod ang kanyang mga music covers na agad namang lumikon ng million million ma views.
"I just did it differently. I wanted to havr people view covers more as a way of people expressing themselves. Not just you know singing a popular song cause it's popular."
"These days it's so important that you trust your fans, you love them and you give them attention and talk to them cause they can literally make it or break it for you. ... That's something more meaningful than any form of success--it's building people who believe in you."
Aminado si Aiono na mahirap balansehin ang kanyang oras lalo na't isa sya sa mainstream pop star na may major label deal at promotion. Ngunit maging ganuon paman sinisikap pa rin nyang ipagpatuloy ang pag upload ng YouTube Videos para manatili ang kanyang connections sa fans.
Nagbigay naman ng mahalagang tips ang singer sa mga nagnanais sumunod sa kanyang yapak.
"If you're gonna do it just to be big, don't do it. Because it takes so much more than just being in an interview and having fun and like getting millions of fans."
"It takes alot of hardwork. It wasn't fun and I always wanted to quit. But the whole time that I did that wasn't cause I wanted to be famous. I had a goal in my mind that to get a certain level of platform so I could share myself with the whole world. It was about being to share a gift that God gave me with anybody who wanted listen to it - and that's really it was to me."
