A 10 year-old brave girl attacked by a shark goes back in water to save her friend, and was hailed as hero after being attacked by a dangerous shark . After struggling to free herself from ocean's scariest predator, she headed back into the water to rescue her 6 year old friend.

On August 19, 2015 Szarmack family and friends were enjoying their day at Jacksonville Beach, Florida. At about 3:30 PM, Kaley Szarmack was in the surf with her 6 year old friend, when suddenly a three-foot-long shark bit Kaley when she was about to leave the water. Estimated that Kaley was in about three to four feet of water.

"She walked herself out the ocean and she realized that the 6 year-old was still in the water, so she turned around and went back and got the 6-year-old and took her out of the water", her father, Dave Szarmack, told WJXT-TV.

The Jacksonville Beach Police Department says that 10 year old girl was bitten below her knees and rushed to the hospital right away, and received 90 stitches to repair a four-inch gash on two sides, below the knee.

Dave, who's also firefighter,  told the station, "You see all kinds of   things as a fireman, but when you see your baby, even if it was a little blood, but this was, to see it,  it was really difficult to see. It was just tough. That's my little angel".

"I am  just so proud of her. And so thankful that she is doing well," her father said. "She got no permanent damage that we know of at this point,  and they said she is going to heal up. She'll be able to run, jump, swim and surf in not too long of healing time. He also said "She's going to have a pretty big scar and quite a story to tell tough.
